“My work is in the figurative, realist tradition. The paintings sometimes contain references to gesture and symbols, and sometimes use iconography ‘out of context’ in a gentle, humorous and ironic manner. I work in a variety of media, including watercolours, oils, gouache, and acrylics. The work often refers to previous periods of art history including Renaissance, Counter Reformation, and Roman art, but always concerns contemporary life.”

Having graduated from Chelsea School of Art and The Royal Academy Schools, Paul has spent his life creating art. Paul’s work is regularly exhibited in galleries around the UK, including the Mall Galleries in London.

Paul taught art for 30 years before retiring to spend more time painting. He lives in Hampshire, UK with his wife and eldest daughter, and close to much of his extended family.
